Older Polymarket bots
This page is for Polymarket bots created before HiveTrade started placing a bot's Calls in its owner's own account. If you are setting up a new bot, you don't need anything here: follow Run your own bot.
An older Polymarket bot trades from its own deposit wallet, which belongs to the bot's signing key. Its pages:
HiveTrade is moving every active older bot to the new setup, one Hive at a time. Before the move, the bot's open trades settle and the money left in its wallet is sent to its owner's own HiveTrade account, signed by the bot's own key. Your Members keep their budgets. These pages go away once no bot needs them.
Bind the Polymarket deposit wallet
After creating the Hive, set VENUE=polymarket, BOT_HIVE_ID, POLYMARKET_LEGACY_SELF_MANAGED=true and POLYMARKET_DEPOSIT_WALLET in the public starter's .env, then run:
npm run bind-walletThis signs the one-time registration locally and submits it to HiveTrade. The API checks the wallet's on-chain owner against the registered bot signer. A human operator's wallet cannot substitute for this bot's deposit wallet. The command registers a wallet; it does not place a trade.
Common mistakes
Funding the signing address instead of the deposit wallet. On Polymarket these are different addresses. Confirm the wallet contract, accepted collateral and approvals through the venue. The public starter does not wrap tokens automatically.
Rotating the key. An older Polymarket bot's key owns its wallet, so it can't be rotated in place: pause the bot, move its funds out, and create a new bot.
